Welcome to The Wittegen Press Giveaway Games, a month-long event we hope you will enjoy.

We are giving away one short story every day in the month of July 2012.

These tales will be from many different genres, fantasy through to crime and everything in between.

Each story will only be available for 24 hours, so make sure you visit the site every day.

Most of the stories will be suitable for a wide audience base, but some will have adult content. All of these will be marked.

Rate the stories once you have read them using the medal polls, and each time you do, YOU EARN ONE CHANCE TO WIN a $50 Amazon Voucher (or equivalent depending on your chosen Amazon site) in our month-long competition.

We're also be running daily competitions.

Being a thief has its downsides, especially when you've been caught. Tren doesn't really expect to be executed, but when he's dragged out of his cell it seems he might be one of the unlucky ones. As it turns out he's not for the drop, but he is carted off to a fortress where he might just die anyway, a fortress that houses dragons.
