AtoZChallenge 2015: U is for Unapologetic

AtoZ Challenge 2015 Wittegen Press UAtoZChallenge 2015: U is for Unapologetic

Our theme here at Wittegen Press this year is ‘why’, specifically, why have we, as authors, written the titles we have. And, each day, the book we’re talking about will be FREE.

Today, I’m talking about my collection of Christmas Poems, which is an unapologetic dose of Christmas cheer :). I would say it’s out of season, but my sales stats tell me that folks download this book at all times of year (someone even downloaded it last July)!

I’m not a brilliant poet, so please don’t expect Wordsworth, but then that’s not the idea behind these poems. I wrote each one of them over successive years a few days before Christmas, and they are echoes of the goodwill that brings us together at that time of year. Some of the poems are funny, some are religious, some are a mixture of the two, so I think there is a little something for everyone.

I wrote these poems to be performed too, so there is an aspect of drama and theatre about them.

So, I’m not going to apologise for being a bit sappy. I loved writing these poems, and I hope you’ll like them too.

When do you think it’s okay to be a bit mooshy? ;P

The 6 poems in this book were written to be read aloud as the last lesson at a Christmas Day service in a little, English church. They can be enjoyed by anyone from 8 to 80.
