Greetings and welcome to day 3 of the AtoZChallenge. Today we have two very interesting ladies for our Coolest Classical Author, one wrote great romance with gritty, determined female characters, the other science fiction with a side of Gothic horror.
- The Luggage (Terry Pratchet)
The is a large chest made of Sapient Pearwood (a magical, intelligent plant which is nearly extinct, impervious to magic, and only grows in a few places outside the Agatean Empire, generally on sites of very old magic, such as Indian burial grounds and ancient monolithic sites). It can produce hundreds of little legs protruding from its underside and can move very fast if the need arises. It has been described as “half suitcase, half homicidal maniac” (Sourcery paperback p22)(Discworld Wiki).
- So what is there not to love about the luggage, it is fiercely loyal to its owner, carries just about everything and is a rather good guard dog at the same time!
- Mary Poppins’ Carpet Bag
Now, this is the bag that contains all of Mary Poppins’ worldly possessions. When there’s a need, something will come out of the carpet bag. It is practical, magical and has a rather attractive pattern going for it too! 🙂
Our Other Blogs
Sophie and Tasha are also sharing duties on one other blog for the AtoZ and they both have their own blogs as well. Visit them to see their exciting themes for this year.
